If you’re like me you love the Olympics this year we are celebrating the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. And they start in just a few weeks. I’m pumped. I think it’s the random sports that you don’t normally get to see on TV that draws me in.
This year British architect Asif Khan helped create a giant pinscreen display that will cover the whole side of a building. The pinscreen will display faces of visitors scanned in photo booths, displaying them as the faces of the Olympics. Just anther reason I wish I could go.
3D photo booths within the pavilion and across Russia in MegaFon retail stores will scan visitors’ portraits to be recreated in by the pavilion. It’s facade is designed to function like a huge pin screen. It is made up of over 10,000 actuators which transform the building’s skin into a three-dimensional portrait of each visitor’s face. The concept is to give everyone the opportunity to be the face of the Olympics.
