Doesn’t Sound Crappy At All: Sonic 3’s Ice Cap Theme Played on Floppy Drives

floppyYouTube magician MrSolidSnake745 has put together another floppy drive symphony for the world. This time around he’s playing the Ice Cap Theme from Sonic 3. My favorite part is how it sounds. “Really, you like how music sounds.” Yeah, that’s the best part. “Well, I guess it’s better than how it looks most of the time.”

When I stumbled across this production I expected a repeat of the nightmares I experienced after my last computer bit the dust. But instead I got a well orchestrated bit of music.

I should have thought to put something like this together before I threw away all of my old floppy drives I was collecting. I finally realized that I was going to have to store them for 20 or 30 more years before the nostalgia of them made them cool enough to sell.

Hit the jump for the video.
