I’ve got dreams man, dream of one day competing in the Olympics. The problem there is I’m not one of those people, like my brother, with any sort of natural athletic talent. The only sports I am any good at still haven’t been accepted as Olympic sports and it’s likely if they were I’d learn exactly how not good at them I am.
But there is hope. In October 2016 in Switzerland the first Cybernetic Olympics will be held. The athletes will be those who aren’t able to compete in the Paralympics. Events will include:
Powered Wheelchair Race
Powered Arm Prosthetics Competition
Powered Leg Prosthetics Race
Powered Exoskeleton Race
Functional Electrical Stimulation Bike Race
Brain-Computer Interface Race
So the whole thing sounds like a mix between a carnival midway game, TRON, and Mario Kart. That’s bound to draw some big names of people you’ve never heard of. And you never will hear of them either because there is zero chance that this will be televised on any channel that you don’t have to pay an extra $40 a year to get.
