Who knew that Domino’s has been around since 1960 and that Famous Original Rays has been famous and original since 1964. I always kind of figured all these pizza chains had been around since the beginning of time. They started in Italy of course and them moved to the states where people enjoy a good pizza without arguing over who invented it because no one cares.
Papa Murphy’s sadly lost their pizza ovens in the move when one of the ships in their flotilla sank. They’ve been selling raw pizza ever since. That’s what I call making the best of a bad situation.
Anyway, the folks at Thrillist put together a graphical timeline displaying the years in which the major pizza chains started up. Check it out, I’m sure you’ll learn something.
