Is There a Chance the Track Will Bend? Google Monorail

BWF3TH1IMAA--WSDoes everyone remember the Simpson’s episode with the monorail. Do you remember how that turned out. Yes, as a classic. I’m guessing that’s the reason behind Google’s Sydney office’s decision to buy a monorail of their own. Unfortunately though, their won’t be operational.

A joke suggestion was submitted by one of the employees at Google’s Sydney office to the defunct Sydney Monorail in order to travel between the three buildings on the Google campus. Because the management of every company is the exact same none of them got the joke and they decided to go for it. But, instead of buying the monorail for use as transport they waited for it to be junked and then bought several of the cars from the scrapyard to use as meeting rooms.

I know when I go to work that a failed piece of public transportation is where I like to hang out. Even when I lived close I didn’t ride public transport. I walked. It was safer, cleaner, quieter, and faster.

If you’re going to learn anything from this story it’s that you should make every outlandish, crazy, and stupid suggestion that comes to mind. Who knows when management will start listening to you. You might be having “awkwardly casual Thursdays” before you know it.

I think you have spectacularly failed to understand what happened. 🙂
