7-year-old Charlotte Benjamin has had it with LEGO and their lack of cool, adventuring female minifigs. So she decided to point her rage at the company in what became an open letter. I’m sure her parents had a lot to do with that. I’m guessing the parents are either female-empowerment crusaders or they just thought the letter their daughter presented to them for proofreading and postage was freaking hilarious so they decided to post it online.
I really hope it’s mostly the latter.
Little Charlotte was frustrated that, “All the girls did was sit at home, go to the beach, and shop, and they had no jobs but the boys went on adventures, worked, saved people, and had jobs, even swam with sharks.”
Yes, I’ll admit, the girl minifigs do get the raw end of the deal some times but have you ever stopped to think how much the poor boy minifig who works road construction would rather stay at home and go to the beach than walk behind a paving machine all day and smell like asphalt all the time?
