By the time her wedding rolled around in Sherston, Wilts, England A bride and her mother decided that she wasn’t going to get her letter to Hogwarts. So they took matters into their own hands. They hired a couple of falconers to come and use a barn owl to deliver the wedding rings from the back of the chapel up to the bride and groom at the alter.
Sounds magical right? Well it may have been if the barn owl hadn’t done what barn owls do. Instead of flying from one falconer to the other the owl flew up into the rafters and went to sleep. With the wedding rings attached to ribbons on it’s feet the whole time. After a few increasingly awkward minutes of trying to coax the bird back down from the ceiling the couple continued the ceremony with backup rings.
By the time the couple were married and left the church the owl was still sitting up in the rafters. It took a long ladder to get her back down. I’m pretty sure if that would have happened around here the bird would have made it from the back of the chapel to the front before someone shot gunned it out of the sky. Maybe that would be slightly out of place in a church but we also wouldn’t have to deal with a bird in the rafters.
